Andiswa nabuha bashimani inge balaha mbola. Nanani takazo yaku bapala nibona. Akupa mueteleli wa bona kuli abapale ni bona.

Andiswa watched the boys play soccer. She wished that she could join them. She asked the coach if she can practise with them.

Bo mueteleli babona baiswala mwa teka. “Fa Sikolo se, ki bashimani feela baba lumelilizwe kubapala mbola ya mautu.” Babulela.

The coach put his hands on his hips. “At this school, only boys are allowed to play soccer,” he said.

Bashimani seba mubulelela kuyo bapala mbola ya mazoho yabasali. Sebamubulelela kuli mbola ya mazoho ki ya basizani mi mbola ya mautu kiya bashimani. Andiswa nanyemile.

The boys told her to go play netball. They said that netball is for girls and soccer is for boys. Andiswa was upset.

Lizazi lelitatama, Sikolo nesinani mbola yetuna ya mautu. Mueteleli wa mbola ya mautu naikalezwi kabakala kuli mubapali yomutuna nakulile mi nasakoni kubapala.

The next day, the school had a big soccer match. The coach was worried because his best player was sick and could not play.

Andiswa amatela ku mueteleli wa mbola ya mautu niku kupa kuli amulumeleze kubapala. Mueteleli wa mbola ya mautu nasazibi sakueza. Kasamulaho, alumelela Andiswa kuli akone kukopana ni babapali babañwi.

Andiswa ran to the coach and begged him to let her to play. The coach was not sure what to do. Then he decided that Andiswa could join the team.

Mbola neitiile. Hakuna yana nwisize nebe nako haseifitile fa hali.

The game was tough. Nobody had scored a goal by half time.

Mwanako ya semba sabubeli sa papali, mushimani alimuñwi anepela mbola ku Andiswa. Amatela fakaufi ni linwisezo kakuakufa. Alaha mbola katata mi anwisa.

During the second half of the match one of the boys passed the ball to Andiswa. She moved very fast towards the goal post. She kicked the ball hard and scored a goal.

Batu nebatabezi hahulu. Kuzwa zazi leo, basizani neba lumelelizwe kulaha mbola ya mautu.

The crowd went wild with joy. Since that day, girls were also allowed to play soccer at the school.
