Shikombo, Mbwa nOngobe ova li ve na oukaume wakula. Fiku limwe ova ya olweendo nokatekisa.

Goat, Dog, and Cow were great friends. One day they went on a journey in a taxi.

Eshi va fika oko va li va uka omushingi okwe va pula va fute oimaliwa yavo yolweendo. Ongobe okwa futa oimaliwa yaye yolweendo.

When they reached the end of their journey, the driver asked them to pay their fares. Cow paid her fare.

Mbwa okwa yandja oshimaliwa sha pitilila shaashi kakwa li i na oimaliwa ya tukuka nawa.

Dog paid a bit extra, because he did not have the correct money.

Omushingi kwa hangika ngeno ta pe Mbwa oshendja yaye, eshi Shikombo kwa faduka po ina futa nande osha.

The driver was about to give Dog his change when Goat ran away without paying anything.

Omushingi okwa uda nai neenghono, eshi Shikombo ina futa sha. Okwa shinga ndele ta i noina yandja vali oshendja yaMbwa.

The driver was very annoyed. He drove away without giving Dog his change.

Opo nee pa dja fiyo okunena eli, Ombwa hai totele nokutaata oihauto, opo i tale ngeenge pamwe tai mono mo omushingi winya a faduka po noshendja yayo.

That is why, even today, Dog runs towards a car to peep inside and find the driver who owes him his change.

Okudja tuu efiku olo Oshikombo ohashi faduka po shimha sha udu omudumo woshihauto. Ohashi kala sha tila pamwe otashi kwatwa po eshi inashi futa oimaliwa yovanhu yolweendo.

Goat runs away from the sound of a car. She is afraid she will be arrested for not paying her fare.

Ongobe ihai kala ina ko nasha ngeenge tai tauluka opate nande taku di oshihauto. Ongobe ohai ende nefimbo layo ngaashi ya hala ngeenge tai tauluka opate, shaashi yo oi shi shi kutya oya wanifa po oifuta yayo yolweendo.

And Cow is not bothered when a car is coming. Cow takes her time crossing the road because she knows she paid her fare in full.
